Snowboarding
I like many sports and outdoor activities, and snowboarding is a combination of the two that I enjoy. The first time I tried to snowboard I was in my mid-teenage years. My dad took me to a ski resort then. I am from the region of heavy winters, mountains, and outdoor activities, so many people take it as a hobby. My dad is also really good at it, which gave me an extra courage to become good at it.
Living in New York City provides me with limited options for snowboarding. Most of the mountains are located too far north and are about 4 hours away. The climate here, especially the last two winters, is also very mild. Most of the season it is above freezing temperatures. So, even if they use snowmakers, conditions are still not ideal as the snow doesn't last long. However, I make it a point to get out there at least twice a season.
Video Games
Another hobby of mine is video gaming. I mostly play on PlayStation 5, except for an old classic game, Heroes of Might and Magic, which I play on my PC. On a gaming console, I like to play GTA V, Call of Duty, and single player story mode games such as Spider-Man. This is a great way to relax at home and to submerge yourself in a different world.
This past Christmas, when I got my PS5, I was pleased to find out they included a video game with each console called Astro's Playroom. At first, I thought it would be just a quick introduction to a new controller, but it ended up being a full game that took hours to complete. The graphics, storyline, and challenges are outstanding, and I would recommend everyone taking the time to play it. I also discovered that most devices can be used to play remotely, which is great for when I want to lay down but still want to play.
